The MSc Cybersecurity and Data Forensics programme is a scholarly-practitioner programme grounded in the philosophy of equipping professionals with the technical expertise, ethical grounding, and critical thinking skills needed to secure digital environments and address cybercrime. The programme recognizes the transformative power of technology in modern society and the growing vulnerabilities that accompany increased digitalization. Therefore, it aims to develop graduates who can proactively safeguard systems, investigate digital breaches, and contribute to the broader goal of ensuring a secure and trustworthy digital ecosystem

Admission Requirements – Local Applicants
- Applicants with a bachelor degree from GTEC approved Universities or any recognized global university bachelor degree in management, science, engineering and related discipline, may apply.
Admission Requirements – International Applicants
- International applicants may be admitted based on qualifications from their home country universities, for which equivalence shall be determined by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) of Ghana and submitted to the University.
- Students from non-English speaking countries will be required to have evidence of proficiency in the English language.
Additional requirements for admission will include:
- Full completion of an admission application form;
- Payment of the appropriate application fee;
- Copies of certified academic certificates and transcripts;
- Two recommendation letters on the applicant’s ability to undertake the programmes;
- Personal statement on motivation to pursue the programme;
Components of the programme:
(a) Required (Core) course (s)
Students enrolling in the programme will take the following nine (9) mandatory/core courses:
- Cyber Security Fundamentals
- Research Methods in Cyber Environment
- Digital Forensics
- Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing
- Malware Analysis and Reverse Engineering
- Data Analytics
- Network Security and Intrusion Detection
- Cyber Law and Ethics
- Artificial Intelligence in Cyber Security
(b) Elective course (s):
There are two (2) elective courses. Students are required to choose one (1). These are:

- Advanced Cryptography
- Blockchain Security
(c) Mandatory and Optional Course(s)
All 27 credit core courses in section 14(a) are mandatory for all students who enroll on the programme. Students are required to select any one (1) elective course in section 14(b).

The Graduates from this programme will acquire employable skills directly required in all sectors of the economy including heatlh, finance, education, hospitality, public administration, business management and policy advisory. Graduates of the programme are envisaged to be needed in the following sectors, but not limited to the following:
